"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown."
H. P. Lovecraft
When you or someone you care about is charged with "Driving Under the Influence" (DUI) in Washington, the fear can be overwhelming. For the last nine years I have focused my practice exclusively on the defense of those charged with "DUI" in Washington. During the course of my practice I have assisted over 1,000 clients through the DUI process. Even on a first offense, there exists steep potential penalties to your driver's license, personal finances, and personal liberty. My goal is to eliminate the "unknown" as best I can and then formulate a plan that we can carry out together.
I have argued motions and trials in courts throughout Southwest Washington, including prevailing on the largest breath test suppression motion in Clark County history. DUI defense is what I do. It is the focus of my practice. Let's take fear out of the equation and begin working toward the successful outcome you are looking for.
Andrew graduated with honors from Principia College with a degree in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho College of Law and has been a practicing attorney in Clark County since 2003.
Following law school graduation Andrew worked for Anderson & Associates. In 2005 Andrew along with founding partners CJ Montgomery and Chad Sleight opened Wheeler, Montgomery & Sleight. The same year Andrew narrowed his focus to defending DUI charges. Since concentrating the focus of his practice Andrew has lectured extensively on DUI topics at the request of his peers including DUI Suppression Motions (2008), Department of Licensing Administrative Hearings (2010), Clark County District Court Litigation (2013) and Marijuana DUI charges (2014). In 2008 Andrew prevailed at the largest breath test suppression motion in Clark County history.
Andrew served from 2008-2011 on the Clark County Bar Association Board of Directors. Andrew is an active member in both the Clark County and Washington State Bar Association.
Outside of his DUI practice Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife Christina and his sons Benjamin and Maxwell. Andrew enjoys live music, sports, and is slowly re-entering his childhood hobby of baseball card collecting.
